Window Film Myths Debunked

Benefits of Applying Window Film

There are many benefits to applying window film to your home or business. Window film can reduce electric bills, reduce glare, and protect furniture and furnishings from sun damage. However, there are many myths about residential and commercial window film that need to be debunked.

MYTH: Window film is not cost effective.

This is untrue. Window film is extremely cost-effective as compared to other more costly upgrades such as adding more insulation to a home or purchasing larger heating or cooling units. Window film comes in a variety of shades that control the amount of light and heat that is allowed into your home or business. It is very affordable and will make your home or business more energy-efficient by controlling the amount of heat that is allowed in, thus paying for itself in a few years.

MYTH: Window film will make the interior of my home or business too dark.

This is false. Again, window tint comes in a variety of shades. You can choose the gradient of tint that will reduce glare yet allow the amount of light in that you need.

MYTH: Window film will affect the beauty of my home or business.

Window film will not negatively impact the beauty of your home or business. Dual reflective films such as 3M Night Vision window film are virtually unnoticeable with its low interior reflectivity. And, again, window film will protect furniture and furnishings from fading.

MYTH: Window film is harmful to indoor plants.

This is an absolute falsehood. Window film blocks harmful UV lights while letting in the blue and red lights that plants need for nourishment. Indoor plants not only thrive behind window film, but they are also healthier for it.

MYTH: Window film will diminish the beauty of the window’s view.

This is not true. In reality, it is quite the opposite. Window film actually increases the beauty of your view by shielding your eyes from harmful glare and providing a crisper view of outside scenery.

In short, window film has provided many home and business owners with myriad benefits and you would be hard pressed to find one who regrets having had their windows treated. Just read our client testimonials!
